Computing
Please find information below on Computing at NWPS
At Nunnery Wood Primary School, we aim to deliver a high-quality computing curriculum, which will ensure that by the end of primary school, children will be confident, responsible, and creative users of technology, ready to thrive in an increasingly digital world. We aim to spark curiosity, encourage resilience, and inspire pupils to see themselves as creators of technology, not just consumers.
Throughout the computing units, pupils will learn to:
- Develop digital literacy so they can use technology safely, respectfully, and responsibly in their everyday lives.
- Build computing knowledge and skills, including understanding how digital systems work, how to use them effectively, and how to create content.
- Foster problem-solving and logical thinking by engaging in coding, debugging, and computational thinking activities.
- Learn to stay safe online, understanding the risks and making informed choices when using technology.
- Use technology creatively and purposefully to support learning across the curriculum, encouraging independence, collaboration, and innovation.
