Nunnery Wood Primary School

PE

At Nunnery Wood Primary School, our PE curriculum is designed to inspire a lifelong love of physical activity and sport. We provide high-quality physical education that enables children to be creative, competitive and resilient, working both independently and as part of a team in a safe and positive environment.

Our broad, balanced and progressive curriculum supports pupils in becoming physically literate. Children develop fundamental motor skills—including strength, coordination, agility, balance, flexibility, speed and endurance—alongside growing physical confidence. We actively listen to our pupils and offer a wide range of engaging physical experiences both during and beyond the school day.

We encourage all children to strive for their personal best while learning to celebrate and respect the achievements of others. By the time they leave us, pupils are equipped with the skills, mindset and enthusiasm needed to succeed in future sporting challenges and to lead active, healthy lives.

Our commitment extends beyond physical development; we also prioritise pupils’ mental wellbeing and work closely with families to promote healthy lifestyle choices. Through our PE provision, we aim to nurture confident, resilient children who value both health and happiness.
