Nunnery Wood Primary School

About Us

Ofsted said...

'Staff, pupils and parents all have a say and influence in shaping school policy but there is no doubt that you steer the direction. Doing the best for pupils is at the heart of all decision making. This is the guiding light for school leaders.'

School leaders frequently ask themselves, 'Is this good enough for the pupils at Nunnery Wood? How do we know? How could it be better?'

Welcome to Our School

We are proud to be a popular choice for families from a wide geographical area, both within and well beyond our designated catchment. Our school is quietly tucked away from busy roads in an almost rural setting, connected by a network of footpaths to nearby woodland
and to Nunnery Wood High School, another thriving, highly regarded school in our community.

Our location gives us the best of both worlds: peaceful, expansive grounds for learning and play, as well as easy walking access to the cultural and historic heart of Worcester. Landmarks such as our magnificent cathedral and The Hive, Worcester’s award‑winning library, provide rich opportunities for learning beyond the classroom.

We can welcome 60 children each year, up from 45 previously. This growth has been supported by extensive building developments, helping us prepare for an exciting future and ensuring our environment continues to meet the needs of all learners.

Our spacious grounds are one of our greatest assets. With significant woodland areas and plenty of outdoor space, we are committed to providing opportunities for outdoor learning, sport, exploration, and imaginative play.

What Makes Us Special

Our school is shaped by many features that contribute to its warm, vibrant atmosphere:

  • A friendly, relaxed environment
  • Exceptional pupil behaviour
  • The use of Learning Partners to enhance collaboration
  • Strong pupil voice and meaningful contributions to the curriculum
  • A commitment to creativity, curiosity, and joyful learning

There is so much more to discover. We invite you to explore our website, especially the year‑group pages, to get a deeper sense of what makes our school unique. Better still, come and visit us in person!
