Maths Meeting Photographs

Maths Is Everywhere!
Every week each class has a photograph pinned up on their maths ‘working wall’. They provide  opportunities to use the Real World as the starting point for discussions. The photographs are intended to stimulate conversations on mathematical topics such as pattern, decision-making,  shape, measurement, data handling and number. They encourage us to sharpen our  mathematical senses, to look around and to take the time to make the connections.
Children love thinking about mathematical questions they could ask each other about the weekly photographs, and they really enjoy the discussions that follow. In order for you to continue the discussions at home with your children, each week we will post the current photograph here for you to share, along with some relevant questions. Who knows what they might lead you to find out more about! Do let us know about any interesting discussions that follow.
